“Grjmo u r’buto!” – Občina Sežana Cleanup Campaign
The Challenge
Občina Sežana faced a pressing environmental issue: illegal dumping and littering were threatening the pristine Karst ecosystem. They needed a powerful campaign to rally community support for a large-scale cleanup effort and promote long-term environmental awareness.
Our Approach
We dove headfirst into this eco-friendly mission, crafting a multi-faceted digital strategy to maximize engagement and participation:
- Pre-Event Buzz: We produced 9 vertical reels, perfectly tailored for social media. These eye-catching videos drummed up excitement and clearly communicated the ‘how, when, and why’ of the cleanup day. We made sure to showcase the diverse face of Sežana by featuring:
- Municipal councillors
- Schoolchildren and kindergarteners
- Communal service workers
- Local community groups and organizations This inclusive approach helped everyone see themselves as part of the solution.
- Day-of Documentation: Our team hit the ground running, covering a whopping 8 locations across the municipality. We captured the community spirit in action through dynamic video footage and striking photographs.
- Storytelling in Motion: Post-event, we pieced together an inspiring aftermovie. This showcased the incredible turnout and the tangible impact of the collective effort.
Results
The “Grjmo u r’buto!” campaign was a resounding success:
- Massive Turnout: Over 25 organizations and countless individuals joined forces across all local community councils.
- Impressive Impact: Volunteers collected an astounding 12,160 kg of waste in a single day.
- Heightened Awareness: The campaign sparked crucial conversations about responsible waste disposal and ecosystem protection.
- Community Pride: Mayor Andrej Sila praised the initiative, highlighting how it demonstrated citizens’ commitment to a clean, orderly municipality.
- Sustainable Legacy: The success of “Grjmo u r’buto!” has paved the way for it to become an annual tradition, fostering ongoing environmental stewardship.
- Social Media Impact: The campaign’s content garnered over 40,000 views on Facebook alone, demonstrating its wide reach and engagement within the community.
Why It Worked
